How do I enable roaming?
First, ensure your mobile is VoLTE capable (if you’re unsure, check with your device manufacturer), then follow these simple steps:
1. Enable Mobile Data and Data Roaming on your mobile device
2. Check that your Access Point Network (APN) is set to ‘shwap’
What if I exceed my plan entitlements?
You can enjoy roaming as part of your mobile plan. For your peace of mind, we do not support pay-per-use – this means that as long as you can connect and surf the internet or make calls or send SMS, it’s part of your plan or add-on entitlements! If you have utilised all your roaming data, simply upgrade your plan to receive new entitlements immediately, or purchase an add-on from just $3.88/GB.
Does roaming cover calls?
Absolutely! Our plans include 288 minutes of VoLTE roaming calls – whether you’re calling back to Singapore or making local calls in the country you’re visiting.
- To ensure smooth calling, check the “Network Operator (VoLTE Calls)” column in our roaming guide.
- For example: In Malaysia, connect to MAXIS/UMOBILE/CELCOM to enjoy VoLTE calls and stay in touch with home.
- For SMS, there will be no issues to receive OTP, but our plans do not include outgoing international SMS at the moment.
Can I make IDD calls?
International direct dialling (IDD) calls let you connect to overseas numbers directly from Singapore. Enjoy all-inclusive IDD Talktime with your overseas friends with our IDD talktime:
IDD Supported Destinations: Australia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, China, Colombia, Guam, Hong Kong, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Mongolia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Romania, Taiwan, Thailand, USA – Alaska, USA – Hawaii, USA – United States Of America, USA – Virgin Islands, Vietnam
What's the difference between IDD & VoLTE roaming calls?
The primary difference lies in where you are located when you make the call:
- IDD (International Direct Dialing): You are in Singapore calling a foreign phone number. IDD entitlements start from 288 minutes, depending on your plan.
- VoLTE Roaming: You are traveling abroad and using an overseas 4G/LTE network to make or receive calls. All plans come with 288 min. To enable VoLTE roaming, ensure you have a VoLTE-capable phone.
