The following identification documents are accepted for registration. Do ensure you have your original document and that it is still valid for at least 6 months from the sign-up date.

If you do not hold any of the above IDs, you may sign up for our Data-only SIMs with your passport.

Each ID is allowed to sign up for up to 10 mobile lines, and you can choose either a SIM card or an eSIM.

There is no limit on the number of data-only SIM plans you can buy.

• If you’ve signed up online and selected the “SIM pick-up” option, you can head down to any of our SIM pick up points to collect and activate your SIM card. Bring along your confirmation email/SMS with you and the staff will activate the SIM card and you can start using your services!
• If you’ve signed up directly via our retailers: The SIM is already activated! You can start using our service any time.
• If you’ve signed up online for an eSIM: simply install your eSIM on your device any time to get connected.

We work with Singpost for SIM deliveries and the mail should reach you within 5-7 working days. Keep a lookout for your SIM card in your mailbox!

Activate your SIM in 3 simple steps:

1. Go to our Mobile Activation page and enter your mobile number (or temporary number if you’re porting in).
2. Scan the barcode behind your eight SIM card, otherwise key in manually.
   
   
3. Enter the Activation Code found in your email.

Due to regulatory requirements, we’ll need the person whose name was used to place the order must collect the SIM in person. Do bring your Singpass or original physical ID for verification too!

If the sign-up was done under a family member’s name, that person must also be physically present at the collection point with their ID.

Activation codes are valid for 14 days from your purchase date to keep your order secure. Make sure to activate your SIM before it expires so you can start enjoying our network!

Orders not activated within 14 days may be cancelled, so be sure to activate as soon as you get your SIM card!

To keep your account secure, all eight SIM cards must be activated in Singapore before usage. We recommend you activation your service as soon as you receive it!

Blocking international calls & SMS keeps you safe from scams. While we take the best effort to prevent scams, this is not foolproof – always check if it’s a scam!

Port-in allows you to bring your existing number to eight with no service interruptions. That way, you get the best value and best coverage in Singapore!

1. Sign up for an eight plan – during registration, select ‘Use Current Number’ and provide us your existing number & operator. Make sure you don’t cancel your number with your current operator, otherwise you won’t be able to port-in!
2. When you receive and activate your SIM card, your porting request will be automatically handled by us. It will take 1-3 days to complete (from the time your SIM is activated. If you have opted for eSIM, the porting request will be immediate. Meanwhile, you can start enjoying your plan entitlements on your eight temporary number.

You can use your temporary number to log into your eight account to monitor your porting status. We will also drop you an SMS once your port request is complete. Your temp number will cease automatically once your port request is complete.

For a successful port-in to eight, ensure that:

1. The registered ID and name used to port the number to eight is the same as the existing telco operator.
2. Your current number is not suspended/terminated with your existing telco operator.
3. You are no longer in contract with your current telco.
4. You have entered your existing number and service type (postpaid / prepaid) correctly during registration.

Yes you can! We accept porting of both postpaid or prepaid plans to eight. However, we are unable to accept Starhub prepaid port-ins at this time.

Don’t worry! Here’s what you can do:

• Option 1: You can ask your family members that registered your current mobile plan to conduct the port-in process for you.

• Option 2: You can ask your current provider to do a Transfer of Ownership to your own name and NRIC. After that, you can sign up for eight!

It’s rare, but it happens – we can fix that:

• Port request has failed due to ID mismatch: ensure the following information is the same as the existing plan that you have with your current telco – the ID number, the form of ID (E.g. If NRIC is used at your previous telco, please submit the same NRIC when registering with eight). If there is a typo in your ID number, please email us at helpme@eight.com.sg so we can check on this.

• Number is suspended/terminated at your telco: the number must be active for the port-in process. Please check with your current telco on the unsuspension/reinstation of your number and update us at helpme@eight.com.sg

• Outstanding bills issue: if you have outstanding bills, please settle the balance with your current telco and update us at helpme@eight.com.sg to resubmit your port in request.
• Contract issue: please check with your current telco and update us accordingly. If you are still in contract or do have outstanding bills, please check in with your current telco and update us at helpme@eight.com.sg to resubmit your port in request

• Wrong selection of current telco/entered the wrong service type while signing up: please write to us at helpme@eight.com.sg to resubmit your port in request with the correct detail.

Upon resubmission, it will take another 1-3 days for port-in to complete.

• The non-eight mobile line needs to be ported-in as an active prepaid or postpaid number.
• The non-eight mobile line is registered under the same full name and ID as the eight line you have registered with us.

If you are already using a 5G-compatible smartphone, you likely won’t need to change your phone to enjoy 5G+. If your device is 4G only, it will stay on 4G – you won’t get 5G+ speeds or features. Note: Some models like the iPhone 12 may not be compatible with 5G+. Check with your device manufacturer if you’re unsure.

When you’re connected to 5G+, you’ll see a “5G+” icon in your status bar. If it’s not showing, check that:

• Your device’s network settings are set to “5G Standalone / Auto”
• You have the updated your device’s software and firmware to the latest version.
• You’re using a 5G capable device and in a 5G+ coverage area.

In the rare occasion there’s no 5G+ coverage (we have coverage across the country), your device will connect automatically to 5G/4G services. There’s absolute no service interruption and you don’t have to make any setting changes.

Yes. Voice calls can still function (via VoLTE) when 5G+ is in use.

4G/5G will remain operational during and after our 5G+ rollout. In many places, devices will still use 4G/5G when 5G+ is not available.

In some countries or regions, your phone may fall back to 4G/5G if local partner networks don’t support compatible 5G+.

An eSIM is a digital SIM that can be used on compatible phones and tablets without an additional SIM card slot is required.

You can get an eSIM with any of our mobile or data-only plans. Simply choose “eSIM” as your collection method when you sign up online. If you prefer to sign up in person, our eight retail stores and service centers can also set you up with an eSIM.

Do note that you must sign up and activate your mobile plan in Singapore.

As long as your device (mobile or tablet) is eSIM-enabled, it will work! Check with your device manufacturer if you’re unsure.

Easy! Just follow the installation steps in the email. Here are two easy ways to install your eSIM:

Option 1: Scan QR code by heading over to “Mobile Service”, “Add eSIM” and scan the QR code. Follow your device’s onscreen instructions to install the eSIM.

Option 2: In your device eSIM settings, enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code found in your eight email. Follow your device’s onscreen instructions to install the eSIM.

Yes, if your phone allows two SIM cards (called “dual SIM”), you can have both a physical SIM card and an eSIM active. This means you’ll have two phone numbers! You can choose which number to use for calls, texts, and data.

Important! If your phone already has an eSIM in use, turn it off before downloading the new eSIM. Most devices do not allow two eSIMs to be turned on at the same time.

Swapping to an eSIM is simple! (pSIM to eSIM, eSIM to eSIM)

Option 1: Log in to the eight app, go to “Service Preferences” on the side menu, and select “Manage my SIM” ($5 swap fee applies, which can be paid via your wallet balance).

Option 2: Head down to any eight Service Centres with the account holder present for verification. Our team will get you sorted on the spot!

For any SIM swap to pSIM (pSIM to pSIM; eSIM to pSIM), please head down to our Service centres for immediate redemption of the pSIM.

For your security, we do not allow reinstallation of eSIMs. To get a new eSIM, drop by any of our eight service centres – the account holder must be present for an in-person verification. Upon verification, a new QR code will be issued immediately.

Ensure you have a stable internet connection during the set-up process before re-attempting to download the eSIM with the QR code from your email.

Still having trouble? Just drop by any of our eight service centers — the account holder must be present for an in-person verification.

For your security, we do not allow reinstallation of eSIMs. Kindly head to any of our eight service centers and ensure that the account holder is present. Upon verification, a new QR code will be issued immediately so that you can install your eSIM on your preferred device.

• Restart your device (a simple restart can help refresh network settings and resolve minor glitches!)
• Check your network settings: ensure your eight eSIM is turned on, and the APN is set to “shwap”
• If you have multiple SIMs on your device, confirm the correct eight SIM is set as default for SMS, calls and mobile data.

Auto-Renewal (if enabled): If you have auto top-up enabled, your mobile plan will automatically renew to the same monthly mobile plan. For example, an $11.80 1-Year Plan would renew to an $11.80 monthly plan. Your service will continue without interruption.

No Auto-Renewal: If auto top-up is not enabled, you will need to login to your account to select  a new mobile plan. We encourage you to turn on auto top-up so that your services will continue without interruption.

The billing cycle is 30 days. If you sign up and the SIM card is activated on 1^st July , the first plan will be billed directly on 1^st July. Subsequently, the payment will kick in after 30 days.

We will always deduct your plan charge from your eight wallet balance first. If there is insufficient balance in your wallet, the full amount will be charged to the credit / debit card linked to your service account. We do not support partial deductions at this time (but we’re working on it!)

Login to your account to set up auto-recurring payments and link your credit card to your account to prevent any service interruptions!

Here’s how you can set up Auto-recharge on the eight app:

1. Log in on the eight app
2. Head to the Billing section
3. Enable auto-recharge
4. Add in your credit card (if you haven’t already)

That’s all to ensure uninterrupted connectivity with eight.

If you miss the date to renew your plan, you can renew it the next day. Simply do it on eight account or visit our retailers/eight Service Centres.

When your plan expires, it will go into a grace period of 60 days. During which, you can receive SMS and notification to recharge.  After 60 days, you will continue to receive SMS, however all unused wallet credit will be forfeited.

Once your plan renewal is successful, you’ll receive an auto generated e-receipt from eight. If you need us to resend your e-receipt, do reach out to our support team helpme@eight.com.sg

Plan renewal is automated should if there sufficient balance in your wallet. You can easily top up your wallet on your eight account or by simply heading down to your nearest retailers.

To terminate your eight mobile plan, simply write in to us at helpme@eight.com.sg with your request.

Before doing so, please ensure that auto-recharge is disabled on your account to prevent any recurring charges before termination. We will process your request promptly and confirm once your line has been successfully terminated.

If you’re on an eight Mobile Plan and if your current plan has the entitlement for it, you’re already halfway there! Just pick your in your eight account and enjoy the boost on eight’s awesome network!

After logging in to your eight account, click on ‘Add-ons’ and buy your preferred add-on. Do note that most add-ons will expire on your plan renewal date.

Easy! The Add-Ons expiry is the same as the Base Plan, so you don’t need to remember two expiry dates.

E.g. if you your mobile plans starts on 1st day of the month and you purchased the Add-Ons on the 15^th of the month; the Add-Ons will continue on till 30^th of the month and expire together with the Base Plan.

Yes, you can! Add as many Add-ons you require. You can stack 2 (or more!) Add-ons on 1 mobile plan. However, the Add-ons will expire when your plan renews, so be sure to use it by then!

While we love the enthusiasm, add-ons are designed for instant gratification – they’re meant to be used in the current month only. That means no auto-renewals, no future scheduling -just grab what you need and when you need it.

Upgrading is instant!

• Log in to your eight account > Click on Recharge > Select your plan upgrade
• Or visit any eight retailer

Once the upgrade is activated, your current plan will be immediately terminated and replaced with the new one.
Please note that plan upgrades are billed in full and we are unable to reverse transactions for terminated or stacked plans, nor can we reinstate previously held plans.

Plan stacking allows you to purchase and queue additional plans. You can view and manage stacked plans in your eight account.

• Stacked plans are activated based on purchase order.
• Once activated, each stacked plan follows a 30-day cycle, just like your base plan!

If you have stacked plans and choose to upgrade your current plan, all stacked plans will be terminated immediately upon upgrade. To avoid losing any stacked plans, consider using them before upgrading or plan your upgrade after the stacked plans have completed their cycle. All plans are non-reversible and non-refundable.

Downgrades take effect at the next renewal cycle.

Your current plan will continue until the end of its 30-day cycle, after which the downgraded plan will begin. All plans are non-reversible and non-refundable.

Previously, individuals could sign up for a maximum of 10 postpaid SIM cards per telco. Starting from 28 February 2026, this limit has been tightened to a maximum of 10 postpaid SIM cards in total across ALL telcos in Singapore, including eight.

No. If you already have more than 10 active postpaid lines across telcos before 28 February 2026, you can continue to use them. You will not be required to terminate any existing lines. However, you will not be allowed to register any new postpaid SIM cards until your total count falls below the limit of 10.

All individual postpaid lines registered under your NRIC or FIN are included. This includes all eight mobile monthly and annual plans as well as senior plans. Data-only / tourist SIMs are not included in the 10-line count.

You can check your total line count across all telcos via the ‘SIM Card How Many‘ tool (available via Singpass).

You will see an error message during registration if you exceed the 10-line count. We verify the number of active postpaid lines you have by checking against the IMDA central database, which verifiesyour total line count across all telcos in real-time.

Data rollover lets you to save your unused local data to the next month! Depending on your plan, roll 8 months of data (up to 5TB!) that you can use across SG, MY, ID, TH & HK! Applicable for all new sign ups / port-ins and existing customers, renewing from 29 May onwards. 

APAC and international roaming entitlements that are part of your plan are also rolled over for 8 months! Applicable for 5G and 5G+ plans only.

Yes! Your unused data automatically rolls over at the end of your billing cycle. Your rolled over data will be used first. 

For 5G and 5G+ plans, all data can be rolled over for 8 months!

For 4G plans, only your base data is rolled over. Check your total entitlements in the eight app!

Please note that add-ons are not eligible for rollover.  

Good news! When you upgrade your plan, all your rollover data will be brought over to your new upgraded plan. If you have stacked plans and you choose to upgrade, all stacked plans will be terminated immediately upon upgrade.  

If you choose to downgrade, your accumulated rollover data will either be dropped entirely or capped at the maximum limit of your new plan.  

Your accumulated rollover data will remain active as long as your line is not terminated. Make sure you set up auto-topup and have saved credit card or have sufficient wallet credits so that your plan renews on time. If your plan is not renewed on time, your accumulated rollover data may drop.  

Your unused data is automatically processed and rolled over at the end of each 30-day billing cycle onwards.

There is no expiry date on your data rollover balance, but it is capped at a maximum of 8 months’ worth of your current plan’s entitlements. For example, the 5G+ Power Plan allows a maximum of 4.5TB total base data (monthly + rollover data).

There’s no need to! We already give you free incoming calls and highly generous local talktime allowances – up to 888 minutes depending on your plan – so you’ll always have plenty of time to chat! 

Yes – if you’re on our 5G or 5G+ plans, all base data, APAC and international roaming data will be rolled for 8 months!

Only the base data (SG-MY-ID-TH-HK) is rolled for 4G plans.

• Any customer with a valid non-Singaporean passport can register for eligible 5G+ Monthly Plans (excluding Senior plans) via any of eight’s 400+ retailers or eight Shops.
• Passport holders can also sign up for a Data-only SIM online.

Under regulatory guidelines, each customer can only sign up for a maximum of 3 prepaid lines across all Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) in Singapore.

• Passport holders can only hold the line for a maximum of 30 days. Customers are encouraged to reregister with a valid NRIC or FIN (via Singpass or Jumio eKYC) within 30 days to stay connected. Reregistration will be available in November, stay tuned for more details.
• If the line is not re-registered within 30 days, it will be terminated and cannot be reinstated.

No, you can only stack or recharge plans after you have reregistered with a valid NRIC/FIN.
